Galway Toastmasters: Sgt Pepper - JFK

Galway Toastmasters Club met on the 27th November 2013.   Paul was Toastmasters for the night.  Our Table Topics session, led by Mike, was very light hearted.  We were entertained with the reasons why women do (or don’t) like men with shaved heads and also asked what changes we would make to Galway given the chance.

Sgt Pepper's was as recurring theme tonight.
One of the most enjoyable parts of attending a Toastmasters meeting is the variety of the speeches. Our members come with a wealth of life experience and diverse interests.  Tonight, we had four speeches.  All four of the speeches were from the Competent Communicator manual. Our first was an ‘Icebreaker’, a member’s first speech, given by Tony who told us of his life and the places he has lived in.   We then heard from Ann who spoke to us about the game of Bridge.  Jenny, then spoke about the assassination of JFK and the various conspiracy theories surrounding his death. Finally Pat, told us about his memories of the Beatles from his childhood.

Our next meeting will be held at 8.30pm on the 11th December at 8.30pm at the Menlo Park Hotel, Galway.

Guests are always welcome and we look forward to seeing you there.
