Meeting 22nd January

Our meeting on the 22nd January was very enjoyable. We had nine guests in attendance and a full agenda with four speeches. Three of the speeches were from the Competent Communicator manual and one from an advanced manual - Interpretive Reading.

Majella was our very professional Toastmaster for the evening. The Topics session was led by Eddie and the topics were a mix of light hearted ambitions, challenging and topical issues.

The speeches were educational and entertaining. Kiernan spoke to us about what gives genuine career satisfaction. Joseph told us a story from nineteenth century East Mediterranean. Pat gave us he history of two of Galway's mass rocks. Finally, Rita read us a wonderful short story set in Galway's past.

Our next meeting will be held on 5th February 2014 at 8.30pm in the Menlo Park Hotel, Galway.
