Our President Pat 1 kicked off the
meeting with quoting John Wayne and Nelson Mandela as he welcomed guests and
members with the topic of public speaking.
Nelson Mandela was popular tonight
as Toastmaster Ellen started with an inspirational quote of his: "It
always seems impossible until it’s done".
"Hedonism" was the word
of the night selected by Grammarian Pat 2.
Inflatable kayaks and
"spinners" were deemed ill advised purchases.

We also learnt about overheard
conversations of nursing code speak and finding beauty in everyday things like
an overhearing an interesting story in conversation on a train.
This evening we had two Ice breaker
speeches from Christopher and PJ. We were charmed by Swedish problem solving
and entertained by road frontage and tales of travelling Route 66.
Jenny taking on an Entertaining Speaker speech brought us on a descriptive tour of her favourite cities London,
Boston and Madrid making us jealous with tales of foodie exploits.
After the tea and biscuits the Evaluations portion of the night was positive and constructive with some great
feedback from Darragh, Martin and Pat 2.
Following the meeting reports
Frances read a poem full of wisdom "Desiderata" by Maxx Ehrmann.
Sarah mentioned the upcoming Christmas party on the 13th of December and mentioned the Kris Kindle present we each bring - to serve as a present and a Tabletopic!.
Pat rounded out the meeting on
positive note recognising the Ice breaker speakers.
Next meeting is December 6th in the Menlo Park Hotel at 8:30. See you there.
