Our president Margaret was unable to attend so Paul kindly took her role for the evening. Pat O’D. did an amazing job in his first time as Topicsmaster. His topics lead down many long and winding paths, but it was Mary's witty and hilarious rendition of a mermaid that will be forever planted in everyone’s mind.
The speakers this evening were Pat C, Pat Cr. and Margaret S. Pat C. spoke about his rise as a superhero in his young children’s eyes, but sadly only viewed as pond life by his now teenagers. Pat Cr., shared with us a snippet of his past life in the music business which wasn’t as rock and roll as you would expect it to be. Finally, Margaret S. challenged us all to become “Yarn Harlots”, as she believes anyone can knit a scarf. All speakers did incredibly well.
To end proceedings Thomas L. gave a beautiful rendition of Williams Wordsworth’s “Daffodils”.
Our Toastmaster this evening, Frances G. finished the evening by encouraging people to take the floor, and reminded us of the importance of this.
Overall, and as always a very enjoyable evening.
Hope to see you all there soon.
Colette.
