Another grand evening this time! President Sarah opened our evening with
Tara as Topicsmaster and Eugene making his first appearance as Toastmaster.
Tara's topics were light hearted and fun! Unfortunately, no guests spoke but
perhaps next time we get the chance to hear from them as well!
Our first speech was by Marie, a very touching speech about the Kevin
Bell Repatriation Trust. She spoke about the purpose of the service and how it
can help those who are abroad. Second speech was by Shane, he explained techniques to the club on how
to beat procrastination. I really loved his speech, and the ACE technique is a
great way of pushing forward. Third speech was by Pat, whom told a very interesting story about John
Harrison and how he invented a watch that could tell the time out at sea in the
1700s. We never thought we would be so intrigued by a speech about a watch! Last speech was by Frances, about her own perspective on leadership. It
really showed us what she values the most!
All evaluators were well in time with their evaluations, unlike a pair
of the speakers, who were almost ten minutes each! Our creative corner was by Noorah, a hypnotist demonstrating those
people at the club that are most prone to hypnosis!
As always we all had great fun at our club meeting, and we hope to see you
on February 6th as all are welcome!
