The third
online meeting for Toastmasters was opened by our president Declan and lead for
the evening by Frances. There was a great turnout for the meeting, which was
good, considering it was such a lovely evening.
Martin lead our topics session where Pat Cr let us know his stressful days
are behind him and if he were to end up in hell at least he’d meet some old
friends 😊.
Cormac has gotten into the stock
market and to combat that, meditation.
We had four
speakers and Margaret H started with a speech on the importance of
education of well-being in school. She took us through the structures her
school has in place and the importance of the Erasmus program for the teachers
and students.
Eugene used the Platypus as a metaphor for his PR strategy for his new company
ED sell. Why the Platypus? Because they are unique, memorable and defend their
territory, like any good business strategy.
Sebastian
had his ice breaker speech where he took us through his philosophy of feed your
mind, fuel the body and free your soul.
Tara took us through her habit in sixth class with the box of cigarettes behind the
shed. She’s got big into the fitness since then by doing triathlons and now
teaches and inspires her nieces.
For
creative corner Aisling N took us through a poem she found inspiring
whilst on a mindfulness course a few years back.
Looking
forward to the next meeting!
